• Purple color which resembles a heart.
• The center is white. It tastes bitter and the texture is similar to bamboo shoots.

How to Eat :

• The white florets are required to be removed, cleaned and soaked in acidulated water in order to mitigate some of the bitterness.
• Commonly used in salads, curries, and soups.
